A few weeks ago I did an interview for the “Solo Dads” podcast. The episode is now up! You can find it here. Warning: it’s not 100% safe for home school.

Jim,
I just finished listening to your “Solo Dad”interview. Your “…Meet the Tilsons” blogmade a good intro to the interview, covering some of the same ground, of course. I’m not a solo dad (two dogs and a catexcepted) so I wasn’t sure how much of the interview I would relate to. Pretty much all of it as it turned out.
I’m grateful that your blog and interview allowed me tocatch up with you a bit after a 20-odd-year gap. That gap is my fault. I’ve always tended towards being asemi-recluse, as I describe myself.
I was unaware of the Rite of Forgiveness before you spokeof it in your preface to your answer to the “what would you like to hear”question. Nevertheless, I mentallyformed what would be my answer before you got too far into your preface. It was almost verbatim with your answer. That’s the closest I’ve come to crying sinceI got the notification from Tennessee Donor Services that they were able to usesome of Sally’s tissues.
Until after “The Curious Savage” when you told Nina thatyou were one year old during the Moon landing (and when I had been in theplay), our age difference hadn’t sunk in. (Sally would have called you “A mere child”.) Just remember that when on FaceBook or yourblog you reference TCM films like “Whatever happened to Baby Jane” and “It’s aMad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”, some of us may have seen them as first-runshowings. I enjoyed the latter filmmore. Thank you for the past and the present. The Lord be with you and your family. Roy

Roy,
You’re very kind! The gap is just as much my fault, but I’d like to amend that. Let’s get together some time for dinner. I’d like to have you over for an in-person catch-up, and maybe even an “old movie” night.
Jim
